Now in its 8th year, the annual Infrastructure Journal Awards have become an industry leading event awarding excellence and innovation in Infrastructure and Project Finance, and this years awards night was no exception.
Held at London’s impressive Natural History Museum on Thursday 12 March, the event saw over 500 industry leaders gather to celebrate another year of innovation and excellence in financing global infrastructure.
The Awards proved to be a fantastic night with the esteemed editor Angus Melville introducing the evening and presenting the awards in his own indisputable style. Closely followed by Gyles Brandreth giving his own personal take on the value of Infrastructure projects to the local communities and the countries involved as a whole. Kay Scott, IJ’s general manager commented: “2008 proved to be the most challenging year in living memory for the financial markets and in this environment it is all the more important to recognise excellence and achievements in the infrastructure sector. In this market there is no such thing as vanilla financing and Project Finance professionals have to take ever more intelligent approaches to problems in order to get deals away.It is a mark of the quality of the people who operate in this sector that even in such cash-constrained times, deals like the US$5bn Yemen LNG project can be bought to close. This is still a business that delivers assets that support economic growth, and delivers returns for those involved.”
The biggest winners on the night were, BNP Paribas who walked away with three awards, while the biggest award of the night went to Yemen LNG for the Global Deal of the Year. Click here to see all the winners
We look forward to seeing you in 2010
Best wishes
